Guests can then access the check-in page using the personal mobile devices. They simply need to scan the QR Code displayed in the reception area or on the kiosk.
How does BYOD works
To retrieve the correct reservation, your guests will need a name and reservation number. This will allow them to start the check-in process.
Mobile check-in includes the same steps as a regular check-in. This can include completion of the registration card, declaring additional guests, adding options like breakfast and parking, and securing payment or pre-authorization.
Alternative guest journeys
Keycard pickup
The BYOD check-in will display a QR Code at the end of the process. This QR code can be scanned on one of our kiosks to create a key and get immediate access to the hotel room.
This guest journey only requires the guest to place the phone in front of a QR Code reader and pick up the room keys. This typically takes 20 seconds from start to finish!
Room availability
If no room is available at the time of check-in, the check-in request will be "queued up" with the highest priority. Once a room becomes available, an email or text message will be sent to the guest with the QR code for key pickup.
Queueing and email/SMS notification means the guest won't have to wait in the lobby. They can explore the destination while waiting for the Room is Ready notification.
Manual key pickup
Lobby Check-In on Mobile works well even without kiosks. Guests can show the Room is Ready notification to the receptionist and get a pre-encoded key.

Pin-code
Hotels with pin-code door locks can also use Lobby Check-In on Mobile. The Room is Ready notification sent when the room is ready will include the room number and an easy-to-use pin-code.
